Best Photography Spots in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife

I recently visited Tenerife for the first time, and stayed in Puerto de la Cruz. Puerto de la Cruz is a beautiful coastal city on the northern coast of Tenerife, with stunning coastal views, beaches, side streets, and a volcano in the backdrop. I was excited to take my Fujifilm X100VI with me on this trip, and I’m super happy with how the photos have turned out.

In this post I’ll share my favourite photography spots on the trip, and when I went. All photos were taken on the Fujifilm X100VI – I used both a Kodak Gold and Porta 400 film recipe, which I thought were perfect for capturing the vibrant colors in Puerto de la Cruz and the blues of the ocean. These photography spots are in no particular order.

1. Playa del Castillo

Playa del Castillo is a volcanic sand beach, and takes less than 20-minutes to walk there from the city center. We went in the evenings, which was my favourite time to go – you get exceptional views across the ocean, and with the pastel colors of the sunset you can get some dreamy views and photos. Along the pier too, is a nice place to sit and just enjoy the views. The sea itself it nice to swim in too – not too cold!

2. The Streets of Puerto de la Cruz

Everyday I just loved wandering through the streets of Puerto de la Cruz.

3. Playa San Telmo

4. Playa del Muelle & Batería de Santa Barbara

5. Mirador La Paz

6. Mount Teide (Outwith Puerto de la Cruz)
